Suzanne Schechter Levin

Initially got degree in Art Ed at WSU 12/64 and got married 10 days later. Worked on Masters in Special Ed. Taught Multiply Handicapped for a little over a year - NOT for me.

Spent 10 years being a Mom and volunteer at their school and taught at Temple Beth EL. Then learned about the PA profession (was like a gift from God). Then spent 3 1/2 years doing pre-med and got my Physician Assistent degree in '83. Practiced for the Department of Correction and then at Mount Carmel near it's end.

Simultainious with the ending of my 25 year marriage and my youngest son starting college I became the associate of Dr "V" at the DMC - Karmanos Cancer Institute and spent the next 16 years in medical and radiation oncology. It was the perfect job and I loved it 24/7. People often asked how I could do it. I always said I got much more than I gave.

Met my "beshert", Stewart Levin, nearly 12 years ago and married him 1 yr and 1 day after our first date. We delight in each other every day and now I really know what it means to have a "best friend". For nearly 5 years I was a hospitalist at Harper Hospital.

Decided to retire at the end of January - or maybe I'm on a sabbatical....

Loved those years, especially being part of the "arty" crowd.

Those after school hours in the art room with Raymond Devleeshower were the best part of my week.

Loved the talks in front of the office with John Swift and Lin Olmsted and Sofee Kloss.

Those BLTs at Fredson's were so delicious - even though I had to retake biology in summer school with Mr Strepek because I missed 53 days of my 8th hour class.
