I went to Hampton and Mumford with Mickey. He was a good kid back then. I am sorry and send condolences to his family and classmates. I have been in California and out of touch with most for years. I saw Bruce Seyburn and Harriet Carnick at a reunion but Mickey decided not to attend and so I missed a chance to touch base with all the Joe Cornell dance team. Very sorry.

Mickey, myself and several other guys, used to sing doo wop harmony in the bathroom at Mumford (great sound in the bathroom) and also at the Gulf gas station on 7 mile Rd. just East of Livernois. I think we got expelled for 2 days for singing in the lunch room, when we brought the house down with everybody clapping and going crazy with our cool harmony sounds. Fond memories to say the least. I had not seen MIckey except at reunions in recent years as I am still actively practicing law in Michigan, Arizona and California. But I and several others on weekend meetings for years during Mumford days knew, in addition to his singing talents, Mickey was unique and refreshing in a positive way.  Always a good attitude and true to his family and friends.

I never knew Mickey that well.  We were in a couple of classes together and I don't now if he knew me from Adam.  But I did recognize his uniqueness, and I knew that he would always be remembed for that.  And, indeed, that's the case.  I will remember him  as part of my Mumford experience and how he contributed to the whole portrait of those times.  RIP Mickey.
